Floating rates are seasonal. For electricity, prices often rise during extreme heat (AC usage) or extreme cold. For natural gas, prices rise in winter. However, floating customers typically "make up" for these expensive months with significant savings during the spring and autumn "shoulder seasons."
Absolutely! Many of our customers choose a Fixed Rate for Electricity (to avoid volatility) but keep a Floating Rate for Natural Gas (to save money, as gas prices have historically been more stable than power). You can mix and match to build your perfect plan.
